Dhaka, 27 February 2026 — The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Dhaka hosted a special screening of the RT-produced documentary “NICA. Made in Russia” on 25 February 2026. Organized with support from the Russian House in Dhaka, the event attracted students, faculty members, and guests enthusiastic about science, technology, and global research partnerships.
The documentary spotlights the pioneering NICA project at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia. It showcases Russia's breakthroughs in high-energy physics and the international teamwork behind one of the most ambitious particle collider facilities worldwide. NICA seeks to recreate early-universe conditions to probe fundamental questions about matter and the cosmos.Participants gained valuable perspectives on state-of-the-art scientific infrastructure, the role of basic research in driving technological advancement, and the expansive opportunities for cross-border academic cooperation. Attendees showed keen interest in NICA's global nature and the doors it opens for young scientists from around the world.A vibrant post-screening discussion ensued, with exchanges on scientific innovation, study opportunities in Russia, and strategies to deepen academic ties between Bangladesh and the Russian Federation.This event served as a meaningful platform to spark interest in frontier research among Bangladeshi youth and foster scientific dialogue.
